Holidays are here again!

It is always easy to tell when christmas is nearing. You just turn on the television and see if they are starting to air abalone advertisments. Just be on a look out for Zoe Tay, Fann Wong or Sharon Au flashing their most charming smile and holding the can of abalone or barbecued pork. Also you might start hearing kids cheering cos` their holidays are here, for holidays means... Overseas trip!(Nope I am not generalising. Most of the people take this time to go overseas.)

Being in poly certainly has its advantages and disadvantages. Advantages such that I can easily skip school enjoy the freedom of not having the need to don a uniform. Since this world is created in duality, (or so I believe that it is.) there has to be a bad thing. Poly holidays (Hey! Let's call it poly holi [haw-lee] from now on! It rhymes!) rarely coincides with the Primary and Secondary Schools'. Thus not enabling me to go on a trip that easily.

As luck would have had it, my term break falls on the 16th of December 2005 to the 1st of January 2006. Sigh~ All good things must come to an end. Someone up there certainly does not like me and is conspiring against me. We searched for a tour that would fit our family schedule and yet there were none! Can you believe that?! I mean, what is this?! Can you just imagine how many of my readers will feel so sad when they do not have anything interesting to read when they visit?! Can you feel my pain?!

Mom and Dad are still trying very hard to find some way to get of this puny little island which I love so dearly. I really appreciate their effort and thought. They feel really bad when they could not accomplish what they promised us. I was so happy when they said we were going to Taiwan for a holiday. I really wanted to go to the hot springs. Argh! Imagine it is the cold and frigid winter and I am relaxing in the hot springs. What an enjoyment it would be. Now all that has vanished, I guess I have to go for a substitute good. Namely, filling up the bathtub with hot water and go wading in it. Maybe install an air-conditioner inside so I can get as close as possible to Taiwan as it is the winter season there.

Now since that there isn't any tour for me to go on, I shall bring you, my readers for a tour! A tour of my house! Hahahaha! Bear with me cos` I really wanted to go for a trip. Besides, I have been wanting to post pictures of my house on my blog long ago. Hahahahaha! So here goes! (Try imaginating that you are at my house... Makes the whole blog entry more fun to read.) :)

So, you are at the door of my house. You reached for the doorbell but hesitated cos` you are wondering how my house would look like. Sounds of children laughter at the void deck broke your thought and you pressed the doorbell. In an instance, the door swung open and you saw me.

Ok. That paragraph up there was lame. When you are at my door, peering through the gates, you would see this.

Nice huh? It is some kinda art work. Using different kinds of wood and joining them together to make art. Hahaha! Before we continue, some of the things in my house has a very old heritage. Some of the stuff are even older than me. I'll show them later.

Moving on. From that art piece, when you look to the left, it is the living room, where the living people live. Hahahaha!

You know, some houses have two levels. My house also has two levels.

About 0.5 inches high! Hahahahaha! That area behind the couch is actually for us to sit and mingle. It hasn't really been used correctly except that I used to mug there for my O's. The platform is made of wood. Kinda cool huh?

Taking position from the art piece again, you look to the right and you will see this.

That area leads to the bedrooms and kitchen. Sorry that I am not gonna show the bedrooms cos` my bedroom is in a huge mess. So let us go to the kitchen.

I love my kitchen! I spend many a good time there eating and munching on tidbits. Hahahaha! The refrigerator! Is huge! Holds lots of food! Not to mention that there is an ice and water dispenser! Hahahaha!

Yeah. That kinda concludes the end of the tour. I am too ashamed to show you the bedrooms. It is really messy. It is almost like stepping into the wilderness. If you drop your keys or pencil in my room, you might never be able to recover it.

Remember me telling you about how some of the things in my house is older than me? Hahaha! Here are some of them.

This pot and the stool that the pot is sitting on are waaaaaaay older than me. I have no idea where it came from but I do know that it was in my house since I was born. I often ask my dad where it came from, but I really have not gotten an answer.

I am sure all of you have seen phones like this. This is another object which is older than me. This thing was passed down from my dad's side of the family. Imagine you are in an emergency and you want to dial 999. Hahahaha!

One of my favourite appliances in the kitchen. Yup. Older than me. It shows how durable it is. It is still working in almost perfect condition. From my old house till now. Surprising. Yeah. It is clean la!

This plant is called the money plant. (At least that is what I think it is called.) This dates way back to even before my brother was born. That means it is at least 21 years old! Have you ever kept a plant that long?!

Finally, the oldest thing in my house.

These are stamps. These stamps are the stamps for my father's grandfather shop. They once opened a jewellery shop. It is at least a century old. Amazing! Hahahah! Weird huh? I never knew I had such things at home.

I have a cool house. Do you know why?
